Kevin's story
An alumni of the University of Southern California, Bartel began his career working as an assistant in the Motion Picture Literary department at CAA. After several years working with numerous prominent directors and talent, Bartel transitioned into the world of unscripted programming when the opportunity to help start Studio Lambert, alongside industry leaders Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert, was offered to him. As a key executive with the US arm of Studio Lambert, Bartel participated in every aspect of the creative process and helped shape the quickly growing company.
While at Studio Lambert, Bartel worked across Development and Current Programming and was instrumental in the launch of twenty plus series including Emmy winning UNDERCOVER BOSS, which premiered after the Super Bowl to 38 million viewers. Working alongside Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman, Studio Lambert quickly became the best performing US Production Company in the ALL3Media portfolio. Due to this success, the team assisted with the consolidation and strategy for ALL3Media in the United States.
With over five years spent and a larger acquisition of ALL3Media in the works, Bartel decided to continue his professional growth by joining the cable network SPIKE as the Vice President of Development and Current Programming. Working under Sharon Levy, Bartel was the primary executive behind the success of big budget competition formats such as INK MASTER. A passionate advocate for producers and production companies while at Spike, Bartel’s positive reputation, work ethic, and high conversion of development to series green-light made him a prime target for a number of high profile production companies looking for someone to run their US business.
In the summer of 2015, Bartel joined the producers of global phenomenon THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF, Love Productions (a Sky Vision company) as Executive Vice President and primary leader of their US office. He has led the company into multiple series orders for shows with Netflix, ABC, Discovery, Amazon, and Nat Geo Wild.
In 2019 Kevin Bartel founded Best Production Company.
